Quick answer

What is the difference between Bioclear, veneers and bonding?

Bonding and Bioclear both add tooth-coloured composite to your teeth. Bonding is shaped by hand, while Bioclear uses clear, anatomically shaped matrix forms and warmed composite. Porcelain veneers are thin shells made in a dental lab and usually need some enamel removed. At Signature Dental we offer Bioclear and veneers made by a dental lab. Traditional bonding is another option you may hear about, which we can discuss and refer for if it suits you better. The right choice depends on your teeth, your bite and your goals.

FAQ

Quick answers

Is Bioclear the same as bonding?

Both use tooth-coloured composite. Bioclear is a defined method with clear forms and warmed material, while traditional bonding is shaped by hand.

Do porcelain veneers damage your teeth?

Porcelain veneers usually need some enamel removed, and enamel does not grow back. That is one reason we discuss additive options first when they suit your teeth.

Which option lasts longest?

We cannot promise a time for any option. How long a restoration lasts depends on your bite, grinding, diet, home care and regular checkups.

Is Bioclear cheaper than veneers?

It depends on how many teeth are treated and how complex the case is. You get a written estimate after your consultation.

Can I whiten my teeth after bonding or Bioclear?

Whitening does not change the colour of composite or porcelain. If you plan to whiten, it is usually done first, so the restorations can be matched to your new shade.

Can Bioclear close black triangles?

Bioclear states its method is used for black triangle closures. Whether it suits you depends on your teeth and gums, which we check first.

At Signature Dental in downtown Edmonton, Dr. Rafael Bustamante, a general dentist, is Bioclear Certified, Master Track and Bioclear Learning Center faculty. Bioclear certification is a certificate of achievement, not a specialty.

Are composite veneers the same as Bioclear veneers?

How much do composite veneers cost in Edmonton?

Our composite veneers are made with the Bioclear Method. The cost depends on how many teeth and how much change is needed. We give you a written estimate after an exam, before treatment begins.
