Quick answer

What is Bioclear, and what can it treat?

Bioclear is a conservative method for rebuilding teeth with tooth-coloured composite, shaped in clear matrix forms with warmed material. It is used to close gaps and black triangles, build up small peg laterals, repair chipped, worn, broken or discoloured teeth, restore decayed teeth and replace failing white or silver fillings. At Signature Dental in downtown Edmonton, Dr. Rafael Bustamante, a general dentist, is Bioclear Certified, Master Track and Bioclear Learning Center faculty.

FAQ

Quick answers

Is Bioclear the same as regular bonding?

Both use tooth-coloured composite. Bioclear is a defined method with clear forms and warmed material, while bonding is shaped by hand.

What are Bioclear veneers?

Composite veneers made with the Bioclear Method, used to repair a chipped or discoloured tooth or refresh several front teeth.

Can Bioclear replace my old fillings?

Often, when a white or silver filling is failing. Sound fillings that are working usually do not need replacing.

Will my tooth need to be drilled?

It depends on your tooth and the repair. We explain what to expect before treatment begins.

How long does a Bioclear restoration last?

We cannot promise a time. Composite can wear, stain or chip, and your bite, grinding, diet and home care all play a part.

What does Bioclear Certified, Master Track mean?

A dentist completes every Bioclear certification level, then submits their own patient cases for review by Bioclear Learning Center faculty. It is a certificate of achievement, not a dental specialty.

Can Bioclear help with small or peg-shaped teeth?

Often, yes. Composite can be added to build a small tooth to a size that suits your smile, sometimes after aligners move it into a better position. A veneer or crown made by a dental lab is another option.

Can one darker tooth be matched to the others?

Sometimes, with a Bioclear veneer over the front of the tooth. A tooth that darkened after an injury is checked first, because the nerve may need attention before the colour is treated.
