Tooth Coloured Fillings Edmonton
Modern composite fillings matched to your tooth, with a preference for keeping healthy structure.
Repair the tooth. Keep what you can.
When decay or a small fracture needs repair, a tooth coloured (composite) filling can restore shape and seal the tooth. Dr. Bustamante, a general dentist, aims to remove what is damaged and preserve as much healthy tooth as possible.

When a filling is enough, and when it is not
Small to moderate cavities are often repaired with a bonded filling. Larger damage, cracks or failing restorations may need a Bioclear rebuild, a crown, or another option. We explain the choices, including limits and costs, before treatment.
Codes people ask about
Tooth coloured fillings are commonly coded by tooth type and surfaces (for example permanent anterior codes in the 231xx range and permanent molar codes in the 233xx range under USC and LS style coding). The Alberta Dental Association publishes suggested fees for some of these codes in its public 2026 abbreviated guide. Those amounts are reference suggestions only. We give you an estimate for your tooth before we begin. Details: fees and insurance.

Comfort and follow through
We discuss anesthetic and, when suitable, laughing gas or oral conscious sedation. Afterward, keep your exams and cleanings so we can watch the restoration over time. If an older silver filling needs replacement, we talk through the reason first. See also restorative dentistry.
Related care
Related care at Signature Dental: Bioclear restorations for worn, chipped or gapped teeth, root canal therapy intended to save a natural tooth, and Invisalign clear aligners. Dr. Bustamante provides all of these as a general dentist.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know a white filling is failing?
Signs include a dark line at the edge, a rough or chipped surface, food catching, or sensitivity. Some changes are only visible on an x-ray, so we check fillings at your regular exams.
Are white fillings as strong as silver ones?
It depends on the tooth, the size of the repair and your bite. We choose the material and design that suit your case and explain trade offs.
Can every cavity be fixed with a filling?
No. Some teeth need a larger restoration, a crown or other care. We will show you what we see and the options.
Do you offer Bioclear instead of a traditional filling?
In suitable cases, yes. Bioclear is a composite method Dr. Bustamante also teaches. See Bioclear.
Will my insurance cover a white filling?
Coverage depends on your plan. We can help you understand a predetermination when that is appropriate. We do not promise coverage.
